Why do you need different enzymes for each macronutrient?
Specific enzymes target specific macronutrients. Amylases are enzymes that convert carbohydrates into sugars. Lipases are enzymes that work to break down dietary fat. Proteases are a group of enzymes that take apart proteins into their building blocks, or amino acids. Cellulase is an enzyme that breaks down cellulose, otherwise known as fiber. These are the main groups of digestive enzymes.
