The healthier your gut microbiome, the better you’ll feel, which is why we’ve designed a fish oil that’s far different than most and perfect for helping your gut microbiome flourish.* It also comes with the digestive benefits of Boswellia Phytosome.
What is Boswellia Phytosome and how does it help us?
Boswellia Phytosome is a standardized extract of Boswellia serrata, better known as frankincense, that has been optimized for absorption. It has been demonstrated to be useful for reducing both joint and bowel discomfort, along with helping pass food through the gut.* These benefits come from the boswellic acids and terpenes within Boswellia, but it’s not enough to simply have some of the acids and terpenes. We need all of them. That’s why not only is Boswellia Phytosome optimized for digestion, but it has had the entire bouquet of boswellic acids preserved for maximum benefit.
What is the microbiome and what helps it flourish?
Your gut microbiome is the collection of trillions of microbes living within your GI tract, many of which are beneficial. If you can improve the health of those good microbes, they can in turn improve your own health.
Diversity is a key factor associated with a healthy intestinal microbiome. Each good microbial species and strain has its own unique set of benefits, plus they keep negative microbes in check—so the more types of beneficial bacteria you have, the more positive effects your body gets. So, everyone looking to improve the health of their microbiome should look for ways to improve its diversity.
One of the greatest influencers of microbial diversity are the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Since few are able to get enough omegas in their diet, supplementing with fish oil can bring all of the benefits. But, it’s not just any fish oil that’s going to produce the best results. Enzymedica’s ratio of 8 DHA: 4 EPA: 1 DPA follows the latest research revealing how higher levels of DHA to EPA lead to a healthier, more diverse microbiome. This stands in contrast to most fish oils on the market, which have long favored EPA over all else. But as science evolves so should our fish oil, right? Interestingly, our improved ratio happens to be very close to what is seen in wild salmon.
What is the Missing Omega and why is it so good?
We refer to DPA as the Missing Omega because most fish oils leave it out (as it happens to be very difficult to capture). While DPA may make up the smallest portion of the Aqua Biome™ blend, its impact is tremendous. Unlike other omega-3s, it can be converted to either EPA or DHA whenever you need it. In essence, DPA serves as a storage reservoir for both DHA and EPA, and as dietary intake of DPA increases, the tissue levels of both DHA and EPA increase. Without question, DPA is equally as important as EPA and DHA in fish oils, and data suggests it is an absolutely required component of any fish oil supplement. For example, population-based trials have demonstrated that higher levels of DPA in human blood are associated with increased degrees of reported health benefits common to fish oil supplementation.
What makes Aqua Biome™ the cleanest, most potent fish oil out there?
We wouldn’t be able to bring you the benefits of DPA, along with creating the purest fish oil out there, without our breakthrough manufacturing process. Through our “Targeted Molecular Enrichment Technology” (TMET), we overcome the disadvantages of other methods in concentrating fish oils, including capturing the all-important DPA. In addition, TMET provides unparalleled removal of lipid peroxides, heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants. This unique process produces purest fish oil on the planet.
Quality control testing on our fish oil exceeds industry standards and includes:
• Testing for over 130 environmental contaminants including dioxins, PCBs, pesticide residues and other toxic compounds.
• Strict measurements of heavy metals including lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury.
The bottom line is you won't find a higher quality fish oil on the market with a balanced omega-3 blend for whole body health benefits.
